Metals have been used for many years for ornamental purposes. A variety of metals including silver, copper, brass, and steel are used in our décor & jewelry. Silver is a soft, white metal that is highly durable, yet still lightweight. Sterling silver, an alloy made from pure silver and other trace minerals, is commonly used in jewelry as it is great for those with sensitive skin. Copper is a pure, rosy colored metal that is softer and more malleable than other types of metal. Brass is a gold colored metal that is an alloy of copper and zinc. It is very durable, yet also highly malleable, making it a great metal for use in jewelry. Steel, an alloy of iron & carbon, is a hard and highly durable, gray colored metal that works well for more extensive projects. Proper care is emphasized for all metals; avoid getting wet when possible, place in dry, safe place when not in use, and occasionally clean as necessary.
We use wood most commonly in our décor for its natural appeal and earthy attributes. It is a sturdy material with in many different varieties, as each different type of tree grows to create unique textures, hardness levels, and qualities of wood.
For a long time, feathers have been used by humans for decorative purposes. Depending on the bird they originate from, feathers can be an assortment of different colors, sizes, textures and shapes. The feathers used in our products are personally found and collected by us; they are cleaned and prepared before use in our jewelry and décor.
Leather & other cording are used in our jewelry & décor items. Leather is a durable and flexible material created by tanning animal hide. Leathers can be made to be different colors and are used in a variety of ways such as on furniture, as book binding, for apparel, and in décor.
We use a variety of different art media including paints, watercolors, oil pastels, graphite pencils, and more. Most of these media are made from some combination of water, oils, waxes, colorants, etc. Canvases, papers, boards, brushes and other materials & tools are also used as a means to create our art.
Aventurine is a tectosilicate mineral and a member of the quartz family. It is often characterized by its translucency and the presence of platy mineral inclusions which give it a shimmering appearance. Aventurine is most commonly found in green, however it may also be orange, yellow, blue, gray, or brown. It is believed to bring luck, feelings of optimism, and aid in boosting confidence.

Amazonite is a tectosilicate mineral and part of the feldspar family. Its name is taken from the Amazon river where is was originally discovered and its color is believed to be a result of trace amounts of water and other elements within the feldspar. Amazonite is a more delicate stone as it has a lower hardness level compared to other stone types. It is believed to clear negativity, and aid in relieving stress & anxiety.
Amethyst is a silicate mineral and violet variety of quartz. It owes its color to irradiation, which are the impurities of iron and other trace elements. It also grows in a variety of formations but some common growth configurations are as a druzy (as shown to the right) or a prism. Amethyst is believed to help clear the mind, aid in relaxation, and promote creativity.
Carnelian is a silicate mineral and member of the chalcedony family. Its reddish, orange hues come from impurities within iron oxides. This stone is most commonly found in Indonesia, Brazil, India, Russia (Siberia), and Germany; its use dates all the way back to the Bronze Age. Carnelian is believed to bolster creativity, confidence, and expression.
Chalcedony is a silica mineral and variety of quartz but also contains fine intergrowths of moganite. It is typically transparent or semi-transparent, while having a more waxy luster, and has a wide variety of formation habits. There are a multitude of varieties of chalcedony as well. This stone is believed to have a healing, calming, and cleansing energy.
Citrine is a silicate mineral and yellow/gold variety of quartz. It is naturally found all over the world, including Brazil, Africa, Madagascar, Spain, Russia, France, Scotland, and the U.S. Citrine has been used in jewelry for an extremely long time, dating back to as early as 300 B.C. Its name is derived from the French word for "lemon" which characterizes its believed benefits. Citrine is believed to produce feelings of optimism while promoting motivation and focus.
Fluorite is a halide mineral that has four directions of perfect cleavage, meaning that when broken apart, it typically separates into octahedrons. It is transparent, but its impurities give the stone its beautiful green, blue, and purple tones that are so popularly known. This mineral is typically formed by hydrothermal activity within igneous rocks and its largest deposits can be found in South Africa, Mexico and China. Freshwater pearls are a composite of the mineral Aragonite (a carbonate mineral) and the organic compound conchiolin (a protein). They are produced by oysters that mature in non-saline water (i.e. lakes & ponds). These pearls range in color from black to cream. Unakite contains pink orthoclase and pistachio-green epidote.
